Who Am I?

So many of us think about being an entrepreneur and how it’s always greener on the other side.  Growing up in a entrepreneurial family I’ve seen the highs and the lows of being an owner.  I always had the bug to do things on my own and I’ve always managed to be “in my own business” even while building a successful consulting career in the New York and New Jersey Marketplace.

By the time I was 26, I switched full time to the sales arena and built a $2m Network integration business while being an “intra” preneur (you know inside the safety of a company).

Fast forward several years, I took the leap from a well paying job to being on my own.  I was pretty calm, my family wondered what the hell I was doing and my wife supported me.  We built a great business in a super competitive market and still managed to succeed.  We literally worked about 20 hours per day and had built a great niche product.

We grew from 1500 scans and day to almost 300,000 per day in 18 months.

We grew from 2 employees to 26

Wow that was fun…

We grew slower for the next 12 – 18 months because we had a real business, with real payroll issues, cash management, office drama, partner drama, customer drama – you know exactly what I’m talking about.

But we grew and did some really awesome things.

In 2003 I had a chance to sell my interest and I did – it was time to start a new chapter in my life.

In retrospect we did some REALLY great things and now more than 10 years later I really am able to share those lessons.

We built a highly focused team enviroment
We measured EVERYTHING we did
We ALL worked for our CUSTOMERS and not our Egos
We focused on marketing, selling and building a reliable sales pipeline
We loved being a part of our community – both locally and globally.
